Iconography: RM Messaging Study

Task:  Create icons to convey specific actions to be used in relationship marketing email communications to customers.

Challenges: Representing complicated actions in a simplified, concise manner. Turning around a series of icons that are determined to be good enough for right now and then continuing to iterate.

 

Project Partner: RM Product Owners

Role: Lead Producer, managing design process and review and approval cycles.

 

Results: This project was focused on taking content that would normally be covered via copy and trying to simplify the action with icons. The list of priority actions was delivered to my team with minimal direction. My 5 designers used this task as a way to create an updated approach using icons as part of the brand design language. Variations on the actions were created and reviewed with the Product Owners to approve recommendations from my team and set up testing in future emails. The use of icons allows designers to reduce on space in email that was previously used by a screenshot.
